St. Mary’s Parish has almost always been fortunate to host seminarians during the summer months to give them the experience of parish life. This summer we have been hosting Mr. Tom Wilson of Immaculate Conception Parish of Cherokee. He is the son of Jeff and Michelle Wilson. Tom is a graduate of Iowa State University in Civil Engineering. He completed his Pre-Theology I year at Kenrick- Glennon Seminary in St. Louis last year. Fr. Tim and Fr. Michael are keeping him busy with youth ministry, hospital visits and other tasks around St. Mary’s. Be sure to welcome Tom if you see him around the parish, in church or around Storm Lake! He will be here through the end of July.

SCHOOL OF FAITH REGISTRATIONS
The dates for School of Faith registrations have been set for Wednesday evening August 22 and 29 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the parish center. All new, absentee, and returning School of Faith students must register one of these evenings in order to be placed in a class for the 2018-2019 School of Faith year. (Spread the word to your friends and parishioners.) All students entering first grade this fall should register this year in order to begin preparation for reception of the Holy Eucharist at the end of their second grade year. Please remember, the expectation for all parish students not registered at St. Mary’s Catholic School is to register for School of Faith classes each year starting in kindergarten or first grade and continuing all the way through to the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation in high school.
The Diocese has set the date for Confirmation at St. Mary’s for Saturday, October 13, at 7 p.m. Candidates and their one sponsor should be at the parish center by 6:30 p.m. on October 13. Spread the word to sponsors, family, and friends.
CONFIRMATION I, II & III
SoF and St. Mary’s Confirmation students: Please remember all paper work for your previous year in Confirmation preparation is to be completed and turned in directly to Kathleen Eckerman at the parish office before September 5 so the pastor can review your file. All School of Faith students in the Confirmation III program are required to register for School of Faith and attend the Confirmation Countdown classes taught by the parish priests on September 12, 19, 26, October 3, and 10. St. Mary’s school students in Confirmation III are required to attend these classes as well.
